Jabari Parker reportedly to be dropped from Bulls rotation

According to a report from ESPN's Malika Andrews, Jabari Parker will no longer be a part of the Bulls regular rotation.

Parker came off the bench in the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Magic in Mexico City, but the report said he was expected to play with rookie forward Chandler Hutchison out. Parker "will no longer see regular minutes" going forward though.

The Bulls signed Parker as a free agent in the summer and he is making $20 million this season, the highest salary on the team. It was a two-year contract, but the second year is a team option.

This isn't a good sign for Parker's option getting picked up, but his production and efficiency had actually been up in late November and the first few games of December. Parker scored 20 or more points in five out of seven games during a stretch in November, including an 11-for-18 shooting night against Minnesota on Nov. 24. In Parker's final game under Fred Hoiberg, he scored 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting and added 12 rebounds in 32 minutes.

In Parker's first two games under recently-promoted coach Jim Boylen, he averaged 14 points (12-for-26 from the field) and 7.5 rebounds in 26 minutes. In the two games since then, Parker's shot attempts have dipped (13 in two games in 46 minutes of game time).

Parker played a season-low 19 minutes in Monday's loss to Sacramento.
