One of the major themes of the first two episodes of “The Last Dance” was Jerry Krause’s dysfunctional relationships with Michael Jordan, Phil Jackson and Scottie Pippen.
This shouldn’t be a major surprise considering the title of the documentary is a direct quote from Jackson telling his players that the 1997-98 season would be the Bulls’ last run together. Before the start of the season, Krause, the team's general manager, told Jackson that this would be his last year in Chicago.
Krause died in 2017 and can’t defend himself or his actions in “The Last Dance.” He is quickly becoming the villain of the story, fair or not.

The way they flash back but still keep us rooted in the 1997 season is incredible.
They are showcasing MJ and Scottie's upbringing & early years with the constant presence of the Evil Empire of Jerry Krause in the background.
The Twitter world is loving seeing this dynamic unfold and having fun with it.

Krause’s infamous line about how “players and coaches don't win championships, organizations win championships" got a second life after being discussed in the show. Former NBA player Darius Miles did not like hearing that one.
Jerry Krause said organizations win championships, not players that organization hasn’t won a championship since 🤷🏾♂️— Darius Miles (@21Blackking) April 20, 2020
Krause did deserve some praise for putting the team together. In the second episode, even Jordan gives him credit for the Charles Oakley-Bill Cartwright trade.
Jerry Krause did do the draft-night dealing to make Scottie a Bull. Let's not forget that— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) April 20, 2020
Jerry Krause built a championship roster around a shooting guard. Hadn’t been done before. #TheLastDance— J.A. Adande (@jadande) April 20, 2020
Episode 2 ended with Scottie Pippen getting into a fight with Krause on a team bus and then demanding a trade.
What’s next for Krause in the upcoming episodes?
