LaVar Ball is back in the news — and, again, for comments about Michael Jordan.
In audio that was surfaced by the HoopsView Instagram account, LaVar responded incredulously to a question about whether his son, LaMelo, has sought basketball advice from the Chicago Bulls legend.
"How often does he seek out advice from Michael Jordan? Never!" LaVar said. "What advice he gonna give him? You tell me what advice he's gonna give him.
"Do you ever have milk in your refrigerator, man? When the damn thing expires, I hope you throw it away. When was the last time (Jordan) won a championship? The game has changed. What's he gonna tell him?"
Yes, the Michael Jordan to which LaVar refers is the same Michael Jordan who principally owns the Charlotte Hornets (for whom LaMelo plays), is widely considered the greatest basketball player of all time and won six championships during his playing career — the last of which, LaVar would be quick to remind you, came in 1998.
Still, it's quite the take. And not the first inflammatory barb LaVar has tossed in Jordan's direction. In 2017, remember, LaVar told USA Today that, in his prime, he "would kill" Jordan in a one-on-one game of basketball.
In comparison, LaVar's latest is fairly time. But still wild enough to make your head spin.
