Nowadays it’s hard to think of a list that features Michael Jordan without Michael Jordan at the top (ok, maybe if you take out the ‘60s Celtics).

But sports business reporter Darren Rovell tweeted out an image on Wednesday showing MJ wasn’t the top-paid athlete represented by his agent, David Falk, in 1992.

It is important to note these figures come after Jordan had renegotiated his rookie contract in 1988. In 1997 and ‘98, Jordan earned over $30 million a season, according to Spotrac, astronomical numbers at the time.

But with today’s perspective on NBA “max” and “supermax” contracts, it’s hard to believe any of these figures.
