NBA Free Agency 2020: When will it begin, what we know and what we don't

The NBA Board of Governors voted to approve a return-to-play format this summer.

But with the Bulls season officially over, all Chicago fans have to look forward to are the NBA Draft and free agency.

On Thursday, we learned the NBA Draft Lottery will take place on August 25 in a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The draft will come roughly a month-and-a-half later on October 15.

But what about free agency?

According to The Ahtletic's Shams Charania, NBA Free agency will begin on October 18.

With the NBA trying to start the 2020-21 season close to normal, training camp will reportedly begin November 10 with a target opening date of December 1, but these all remain fluid.

For Bulls fans, the real prize this offseason is the draft. The Bulls aren't slated to have much cap space this offseason and the 2021 free agency is the period when the Bulls could really transform their team.

That free agency will also likely not begin in early July, as the start of the NBA's 2020-21 season will also be delayed.
