The Chicago Bulls were once rumored to be in the market for a Derrick Rose reunion.
But on the night free agency opened, the 32-year-old point guard agreed to re-up with the New York Knicks on a three-year, $43 million contract, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported.

Rose continued his late-career resurgence down the stretch of the 2020-21 season with the Knicks under old friend Tom Thibodeau. Now, the two will remain attached at the hip moving forward.
And not for nothing, that's a pretty significant raise on the two-year, $15 million deal (originally signed with the Pistons) he's now exiting. Averaging 14.9 points and 4.9 assists, finishing a Sixth Man of the Year finalist and leading a surprisingly successful team in scoring in the playoffs will do that.
The Bulls, meanwhile, addressed the point guard position in a different way, angling a sign-and-trade for Lonzo Ball, then agreeing to ink Alex Caruso to a four-year contract shortly after.
UPDATE (9:04 p.m. CT): The Bulls were engaged in discussions to sign Rose, but the Knicks' offer (which exceeded the Bulls' mid-level capabilities) won out. Caruso's agreed-upon deal comes in $6 million less than Rose's over the life of the deal.
