Wendell Carter Jr.'s time in Chicago came to an end at the deadline. He was included in a trade package, along with Otto Porter Jr. and some first-round picks, for Orlando's Nikola Vučević.

Carter was a former first-round pick for the Bulls and never quite reached his potential battling injuries amid coaching upheavals and changes.

After the trade went through, Carter posted a farewell message to fans, teammates and the organization.

The message reads as follows:

"I'll never forget being drafted into the city of Chicago.

"Thank you to all my former coaches and support staff who embraced me with open arms.

"To my teammates, you all will be my brothers for life! Thanks for all your encouragement and belief in me!

"I wish the franchise nothing but the best moving forward. This is where my childhood dream became a reality and I'll never forget that."

Thank you Wendell.

We'll never forget your incredible Black Panther inspired draft night outfit and immediately taking a pro-Chicago stance in the Chicago vs. New York debate.
