The Big3 basketball league is a three-on-three league created by hip-hop legend Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz in 2017. The league has experienced success over its first few seasons, with the team Power, coached by basketball legend Nancy Lieberman, taking home the Big3 championship last year.
On Thursday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported that the Big3 was planning something intriguing for this upcoming season: a reality show-style, quarantined three-on-three tournament before the Big3 regular season.
The tournament would reportedly launch sometime in April, with 16 to 22 players who tested negative for the coronavirus living together inside of a Los Angeles home provided by the league. The show would follow the day-to-day lives of the players involved, who would likely be from the same pool of former NBA/NCAA players, but those details have not been confirmed at this point.
All players involved in the quarantined tournament would not be allowed to leave the house and would be eliminated if they do. The rest of the rules for the tournament are:
There would be seven rounds of games, with teammates reshuffling after the first round. When a player accumulates three losses, he is eliminated. Cash prizes totaling millions of dollars will be awarded for first, second and third-place individual winners.

Per Haynes report, Kwatinetz stated:
As long as we can protect the players, which we will do through proper testing and quarantine, Ice cube and I feel we can give fans some safe, entertaining brand of basketball to get everyone through this pandemic.
