Selecting the 2019-20 NBA All-Defense First and Second teams

On the latest Bulls Talk Podcast, Jason Goff, K.C. Johnson, Rob Schaefer and Tony Gill discussed their picks for the 2019-20 NBA All-Defense teams.

The caveat, of course, is that the NBA season has yet to officially conclude. Eight seeding games remain in the regular season for the 22 squads taking part in the league’s Disney restart, and it’s yet unclear how those will factor into award voting.

So, take these as tentative selections for the sake of spirited discussion. With some subjectivity and interpretive liberties taken by position, here’s what we came up with:

Rob Schaefer

First team

The panel also broke down the merits of Dunn’s All-Defense case, Joel Embiid’s all-time potential, Brook Lopez's development and some of the other most dynamic defenders around the league.
