Today the United Center, with the Blackhawks, Bulls and hospitality partner Levy announced many upgrades they have planned for the 2019-20 season, which included showing off the UC's brand new, state of the art scoreboard.

It was also announced that in honor of the United Center's 25th Anniversary, the United Center will have a tour program for the first time since 2000. The United Center tour program started on October 28 and allows fans to tour the historic stadium on select non-event dates.

Sergio Lozano is the Sr. Director of Scoreboard Operations for the United Center, and he was thrilled to discuss the many awesome features of the new scoreboard.

"It runs on six independent hoists," stated Lozano, referring to how the fact that the scoreboard runs on six separate hoists, which allows them to independently lower certain parts of the scoreboard. He also discussed the inner video ring, which should improve the experience quite a bit for the viewers in the lower levels.

"We're really excited about the inner video ring display, which will benefit everyone probably in the first 10-12 rows of the 100 Level."

Lozano added that there are also four separate AUX cords which are on independent hoists, helping Lozano and co. really get creative with the in-game experience. The last United Center scoreboard lasted 13 years and they are hoping for an even longer run for the latest edition.

"Every single fan that is going to come to a Bulls or a Blackhawks game is going to have a brand new experience, and I think that is really exciting for us at the United Center," Lozano said.
