Zach LaVine is working to make a difference during his time away from basketball — even while members of the Bulls self-quarantine in the city of Chicago.

In a tweet Friday night, LaVine announced he is committing 12,500 meals to those impacted by COVID-19 pandemic in Seattle through Feeding America:

LaVine grew up in Renton, WA — a suburb just outside of Seattle. His parents currently reside in Snohomish, where recent reports from KIRO7 have the confirmed COVID-19 case count at 385 and the death toll at eight.

Statewide, there have been 1,512 cases with 81 deaths due to the novel coronavirus in Washington, per KIRO7.
