Starlin Castro is back in the three-hole.
After an eight-game stint in the second spot, Castro will return to the most demanding spot in the lineup.
Joe Mather hit third for the first seven games, but hit just .222 with a .546 OPS and zero RBI in that span. David DeJeus hit third Saturday, and supplied the only Cubs offense with a solo home run.
But with lefty Barry Zito on the mound Sunday, Reed Johnson is in right field and DeJesus is getting another rest.
Here's the way the Cubs will line up behind Travis Wood:
1. Tony Campana - CF
2. Darwin Barney - 2B
3. Starlin Castro - SS
4. Alfonso Soriano - LF
5. Jeff Baker - 1B
6. Ian Stewart - 3B
7. Reed Johnson - RF
8. Koyie Hill - C
9. Travis Wood - P
Mather typically gets time at third base when the Cubs face a lefty, but he went 0-for-3 Saturday and will get a day off, likely in an effort to get back on track.
Mather has just four hits in his last 26 at-bats (.154 average) and one walk.
The Cubs are going for their first win in the series against the Giants.
