Joe Mather hit third for the first seven games, but hit just .222 with a .546 OPS and zero RBI in that span. David DeJeus hit third Saturday, and supplied the only Cubs offense with a solo home run.

But with lefty Barry Zito on the mound Sunday, Reed Johnson is in right field and DeJesus is getting another rest.

Mather typically gets time at third base when the Cubs face a lefty, but he went 0-for-3 Saturday and will get a day off, likely in an effort to get back on track.
