Alshon Jeffery: ‘I don't have any hard feeling towards the Bears'

Alshon Jeffery might be suiting up for a different team by the time the 2017 season rolls around, but it won't be because of any ill will toward the Bears.

The wide receiver told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Thursday that he isn't harboring any resentment toward the franchise for which he's played over the past five seasons.

"I don't have any hard feeling towards the Bears, it's all love," Jeffery said. "Whatever the next chapter is, I'm ready for it. I'm looking at the teams that obviously need a wide receiver but also put me in the best situation to win a championship right now. ... I also want to see what other free agents may be attracted to the same teams I'll be looking at, that can help that goal."

Of course, those words don't mean that Jeffery will return to the Bears. Though Anderson reported in a tweet that the Bears are one of the teams in the running to sign him.

Jeffery played in 12 games last season, catching 52 passes for 821 yards and a pair of touchdowns, that after an injury-plagued 2015 in which he only played in nine games.

His biggest years came in 2013 and 2014, when he caught a combined 174 passes for 2,554 yards and 17 touchdowns.
