The Bears lost a legend on Monday.

Doug Buffone, who was a member of the Bears for 15 seasons from 1966-1979, was found dead in his home at the age of 70, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Buffone played in 186 career games with the Bears, the third-most in franchise history. He retired from the NFL in 1980.

In recent years, Buffone co-hosted the Bears postgame radio show on 670-AM The Score with Ed O’Bradovich.

CSN Bears analyst Dan Jiggetts played with Buffone from 1976-79, the linebacker's final three years.

"Just a straight up good guy, and one of those people that you come across in life and you have to appreicate them," said Jiggetts. "You know them as soon as you meet him that that's somebody that's going to be a person who's going to have an influence in your life and somebody that you have to cherish that friendship. And I really did with Doug and I'm going to miss him tremendously."
