Ex-Bears wide receiver Bernard Berrian red-handedly caught one his college teammates and longtime friend burglarizing his home.

The incident happened on April 28, where Berrian's surveillance cameras picked up the footage of suspect Therrian Fontenot.

Earlier that day, Berrian and Fontenot were at the same barbecue, but Fontenot left early. Later on, Berrian received an email saying that his motion sensor had been tripped at his home. When the ex-wideout clicked on his live cam, he found his former teammate at his home.

"I actually watched him doing it while he was doing it," Berrian told ABC 30 News. "I could have actually spoke to him, I got a microphone on there. I could have told him, I got you, while he was doing it."

The two Fresno State alums remained close friends over the years. Recently, Berrian noticed that Fontenot had gotten more curious of Berrian's life.

"He would always call me and try to ask me where I was, make sure I was out of town," said Berrian. "If I was home all the time, he'd blow up other friends in the crew asking them the same question, where's Bernard, how come he's not answering his phone."

Berrian's home was broken into twice a few weeks earlier - where Berrian claims $30,000 in cash was missing, but no arrest was made due to the lack of evidence.

Fontenot pleaded no contest to the charges of the most recent burglary and is serving a six-month jail sentence.

Berrian spent eight seasons in the NFL, with his first four in Chicago from 2004-2008. He played in 58 games with the Bears and had 150 receptions, 2,197 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.
