It came as a shock when the Green Bay Packers cut Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton on Saturday.

Now that decision may wind up working in the Bears' favor.

Multiple sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that the 30-year-old Sitton's first visit will be with the Bears, and that a meeting with the Saints could follow.

The news comes a day after the Bears signed Kyle Long to a four-year, $40 million extension to keep the Pro Bowl guard in Chicago through the 2021 season.

Sitton would shore up the other guard position opposite Long and give the Bears much-needed depth at a unit that has struggled much of the last two seasons.
