Report: Ezekiel Elliott to meet with Bears this week

One intriguing possibility for the Bears in the upcoming NFL Draft is Ohio State running back Ezekiel Elliott.

The reigning Big Ten Player of the Year is considered by many to be the top running back in this year's draft after finishing fifth in college football last season with 1,821 rushing yards. He will reportedly pay the Bears a visit later this week.

The Bears own the No. 11 pick, and while they already have a Big Ten running back they seem comfortable with in Jeremy Langford — the current starter after the team opted not to bring back veteran Matt Forte this offseason — Elliott is an exciting talent and would be difficult to pass up.

Plus, there's a connection, as Bears running backs coach Stan Drayton used to coach Elliott as the running backs coach with the Buckeyes.

So would the Bears spend their first-round selection on Elliott? He'd have to be available in order for that to happen. Rotoworld's latest mock draft has Elliott getting snatched up by the Cowboys with the No. 4 pick.
