Blackhawks: Artem Anisimov out vs. Canucks with injury

VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Scott Darling will get his sixth consecutive start but Artem Anisimov will not play when the Blackhawks face the Vancouver Canucks tonight.

Anisimov is out with a lower-body injury. He did look hobbled after blocking a shot against Calgary on Saturday night but he finished that game. Whether or not that's what's sidelining him tonight is uncertain. Teuvo Teravainen will center the second line while Dennis Rasmussen will center the third.

Darling is coming off a great game against the Calgary Flames on Saturday night and coach Joel Quenneville hinted after that one that Darling would likely play again tonight. Darling stopped 31 of 32 in the Blackhawks’ 4-1 victory over Calgary.

“Four of the last five games he’s been really good for us,” Quenneville said. “He was definitely instrumental in us getting through that first period and had key saves throughout the game.”

Dale Weise, a healthy scratch against Calgary, will play tonight against his former team. Weise played two-plus seasons with the Canucks.

Christian Ehrhoff is in on defense; Michal Rozsival is expected to be a healthy scratch, as is Richard Panik among the forwards.

As for Corey Crawford (upper body), Quenneville said there was no change in his status. He added that he’s “hopeful” that Crawford will start skating soon, but “can’t say exactly when.”
