Blackhawks updates: Teravainen in, Scott Darling starting

Teuvo Teravainen is in and Scott Darling starts when the Blackhawks host the Philadelphia Flyers Wednesday at the United Center.

Teravainen was back at the Blackhawks’ morning skate, which was optional, on Wednesday. He missed Tuesday’s practice due to illness.

Christian Ehrhoff draws back in on defense.

The Blackhawks are facing a Flyers team that has won seven of their last 10 games. That includes the Flyers’ 4-3 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. Michael Neuvirth is expected to start for the Flyers, according to Philadelphia media.

The Blackhawks showed different lines on Tuesday, although with Teravainen back in, the third and fourth lines are likely to change again. Tomas Fleischmann was on the top line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa was on the second with Artemi Panarin and Artem Anisimov.

“If we’re not changing things we know things are going good. We don’t change things unless we don’t like what we’re seeing. Right now, we’re looking for a chance and see what comes of it,” coach Joel Quenneville said. “But I think we have balance in all our lines, we can get energy, purpose and production we’re looking for.”

BRIEFLY

• Bryan Bickell “could be a candidate” to be recalled for the playoffs, Quenneville said. “That’s definitely under discussion. We’ll see how things go here and how things are going [in Rockford]. That’ll be determined.”

• Marcus Kruger (wrist) is still expected to go on the Blackhawks’ trip to Canada next week. “Whether he starts on that trip, hopefully he’ll get in at some point, maybe the whole trip. We’ll see,” Quenneville said.
