Hawks acquire Karlsson from Flames

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired goaltender Henrik Karlsson from the Calgary Flames in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, according to the Flames website.

The 6-foot-6, 213-pound Karlsson played in 26 games over the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons for the Flames. The 29-year-old was 5-9-8 in those games with a 2.79 goals-against average.

Karlsson is in the final year of a two-year, 1.725 million deal, according to Capgeek.com. He has been assigned to the Rockford IceHogs, the team's minor league affiliate.
