CSN's Chris Boden and Insider Tracey Myers talk about a potential Blackhawks-Blues first-round matchup in this week's edition of the Honda Road Ahead.
The Blackhawks built a 6-0 lead against the Boston Bruins on Sunday, but nearly let it slip away after allowing four answered goals by taking their foot off the gas pedal.
Thanks to a four-point effort (and hat trick) by Patrick Kane, the Blackhawks held on to win and secured at least a No. 3 seed in the Central Division. That means they avoid the possibility of playing Los Angeles or Anaheim in the opening round, a series many believe is a potential Conference Final matchup.
But before the Blackhawks look too far ahead, they know they have to buckle down and play a full 60-minute effort down the stretch to avoid what could've been a historic collapse against the Bruins.
Perhaps Thursday's matchup against the St. Louis Blues will be a good measuring stick, as it may be a sneak peek at a potential first-round series.
