Blackhawks legend Jeremy Roenick was honored Sunday at the United Center for One More Shift.
The former center laced up his skates, put on his No. 27 sweater and glided around the ice as fans recognized him with a rousing ovation. To the patrons' delight, Roenick even planted a kiss right on the Hawks' center ice logo.
Roenick played eight seasons for the Hawks, ranking seventh in team history with 267 goals and ninth in points with 596.
He also ranked 13th in assists, that is, until the game actually started. Jonathan Toews' four-point night not only pushed the Hawks past the Canucks, but also moved The Captain ahead of Roenick in the record books.
