Jonathan Toews finds unique way to enjoy final days of summer and prepare for upcoming season

With hockey season right around the corner, you know it's the first sign of many that summer is coming to an end.

Training has ramped up for players, meaning it's difficult for them to take advantage of the warm weather before turning their full attention to the 2017-18 season when training camp begins and preseason games are played later this month.

But Jonathan Toews has found a way to do both.

Rather than spending his final days of summer indoors inside a rink or gym, the Blackhawks captain took his equipment outside, where he skated on synthetic ice for some target practice:
