Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews was named the NHL's Player of the Month Tuesday morning.

He led the league in scoring during February with 21 points on six goals and 15 assists as he led the team to an 8-3-2 record. He was also a plus-13 for the month.

For his career in the month of February, Toews has 49 points in 41 games (19 goals, 30 assists), and was named the Olympics' Most Outstanding Forward for gold-medal-inning Team Canada in last February's Winter Games.

Toews' former Stanley Cup-winning teammate, Sharks goalie Antti Niemi, was named the month's number-two star.
