Watch: Wild's mascot wallops on Tommy Hawk with a baseball bat

Is Tommy Hawk gonna be OK?

The Blackhawks' mascot was one of many mascot guests at a birthday party for the Minnesota Wild's mascot, Nordy, during Thursday's Wild game in St. Paul.

After supposedly shoving some birthday cake in Nordy's face, Tommy Hawk had the unenviable task of holding the pinata for Nordy to take a swing at, only for Nordy to hit Tommy Hawk in the stomach with a baseball bat. Insert comical sound effect here.

But the typical mascot shenanigans were followed by Nordy continuing to wallop on Tommy Hawk, WWE style, for some time — egged on by an all too enthusiastic announcer man — until Tommy Hawk was dragged off the ice by mascots from the New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues.

Hopefully Tommy Hawk will make a full recovery in time for the playoffs, where the Blackhawks have bested the Wild three times in the last four postseasons.
