Jimmy Butler is feeling mighty patriotic these days.

The Bulls star will suit up for the United States men's national basketball team during this summer's Olympic Games in Rio, CSNChicago.com's Vincent Goodwill confirmed Thursday.

Butler will be the first Bulls player to play for the United States at the Olympics since Scottie Pippen, who played for Team USA in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. Pippen and Michael Jordan were both famously part of the Dream Team during the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.

Derrick Rose recently represented the United States in back-to-back FIBA World Championships in 2010 and 2014.

Butler can now add a spot on Team USA to his ever-growing list of career accolades, which includes a pair of All-Star appearances, three appearances on the NBA All-Defensive Second Team and the NBA Most Improved Player Award in 2015.

The United States has taken home back-to-back gold medals under head coach Mike Krzyzewski with first-place finishes in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and has won 14 of the 17 gold medals awarded for men's basketball since the sport's first inclusion in the Olympics in 1936.
