The Bulls may have had their worst offensive quarter in franchise history

If this isn't rock bottom, what is?

The Bulls have been mired in mediocraty all season, and entered Thursday's tilt against the Celtics having lost four straight.

Maybe it was the early start. Maybe it was the opponent. Maybe it was the lack of talent on the roster.

Whatever it was, the Bulls put together one of the worst offensive quarters in franchise history.

Fred Hoiberg's group scored nine, count 'em, nine points in the first 12 minutes.

Here are some of the lowlights from that quarter, and where they rank in Bulls' history:

- The Bulls shot 3-for-22, or 13.6 percent. That was the worst field goal percentage by the Bulls in any quarter since April 10, 1999

- The Bulls scored nine points, which were their fewest in a first quarter since Nov. 9, 2004

- The Bulls used more players (10) than they scored points (9) in the quarter

- It was the sixth time in franchise history they had failed to score 10 or more points in a first quarter

- The Bulls missed their first 12 shots of the game, which was five worse than their previous start to a game (0-for-7)

- It was a Bulls' season-low for points in any quarter this season

The second quarter wasn't much better. The Bulls scored just 17 points, with the 26 points at half being the lowest scoring first half for any NBA team this season.

It was the fifth worst scoring half in Bulls franchise history.
