Bulls' Mohammed on Nikola Mirotic: His ceiling is Dirk Nowitzki

Nikola Mirotic took Chicago by storm in the 2014-15 season.

The rookie from Montenegro was an offensive spark for the Bulls, catching fire from downtown and sending fans into a "Three-kola" chant at the United Center.

Mirotic ended his first season in the NBA averaging 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. How his game will fit into new coach Fred Hoiberg's scheme remains to be seen but there's no question he's making it hard for Hoiberg to keep him on the bench.

So how good can Mirotic be after his successful rookie season?

"His ceiling is Dirk, which would be great for us," Bulls center Nazr Mohammed said. "I think Niko is just going to be a great NBA player. He does so many things well. He can shoot the ball. He's a better driver than people give him credit for. He has some good post moves. He's tough. He's not going to back down from a fight. Now with this experience, I think he's going to play better, get better and improve and make a bigger impact next year."

Mohammed is excited by the addition of new coach Fred Hoiberg and says he wants to be a part of what the rookie coach will do in Chicago.

"I definitely hope to play with him on the team next year," Mohammed said. "I think he's going to be a great coach. He has ideas of what he wants to implement as far as getting up and down the floor, shooting the three when open, pick and roll in transition, staying with the defense. He's played in the league so he knows what the NBA is about. He's not the typical first-year NBA coach out of college so I expect big things out of him."
