The Bulls traded away former league MVP Derrick Rose on Wednesday.

Despite giving up the three-time all-star, the Bulls like what they are getting in return, calling the trade a basketball move rather than a financial clearance.

Chicago acquired three players from the New York Knicks: serviceable center Robin Lopes, veteran Jose Calderon and second-year PG Jerian Grant — who the team is most excited about.

CSN Bulls insider Vincent Goodwill says that the Bulls are a taking a calculated risk knowing that Rose could return to form next year for the Knicks, but it was a risk that the front office was willing to make.
