Anthony Rizzo speaks out against beating of Chicagoland seventh grader

Anthony Rizzo is one of the most charitable athletes in sports today, especially when it comes to children.

Rizzo — who beat cancer as a teenager in the Boston Red Sox system — jumped at another chance to help out a kid in need Monday night.

Henry Sembdner is a seventh-grader at Kenyon Woods in South Elgin who was beaten into a coma for reportedly bumping into another student last week.

Rizzo Tweeted out that he had a couple tickets and passes for Henry — a big Cubs fan — to hop on the field when he feels up to it this season:

He also helped engineer support from his social media following by offering to reTweet anybody wearing Cubs gear in support of Henry:

Henry is out of a coma now and stable. His family has set up a GoFundMe page to help raise money for hospital bills.
