The Cubs' World Series trophy apparently suffered some damage while crowd surfing during Theo Epstein's charity concert in Boston

Theo Epstein sure had a good time in his return to Boston.

The Cubs' World Series trophy, on the other hand, had a painful trip.

The trophy made an appearance — along with the 2004 hardware Epstein won with the Red Sox — Epstein's charity concert last Saturday night. And while Epstein, Eddie Vedder and others rocked out to Neil Young's "Keep on Rockin' in the Free World," the trophies went for a ride — as instructed by Epstein, it should be noted. They crowd surfed, to be specific.

Well, according to the Boston Globe, all that crowd surfing had a detrimental effect, as a few of the flags adorning the trophy got snapped off.

All was well by weekend's end, as repairs were quickly made prior to Sunday's game.

But in true rock n roll fashion, things got a little wild.

Let's be honest, though. Way worse things have probably happened to the Stanley Cup, right?
