It appears that ordinary Cubs fans aren't the only ones enjoying the team's recent success.

Former Cub Bob Dernier shared his interest in the current Cubs team in a SportsTalk Live interview on Wednesday, calling the team simply 'fun to watch.'

Dernier said he identifies most with Cubs center fielder Dexter Fowler.

"I like a center fielder who can run it down and also fill that leadoff hole, which Dexter (Fowler) is the guy," Dernier said. "I've enjoyed watching him. He really gets it done."

From a pure energy standpoint, Dernier said that he is a big fan of Addison Russell's game.

In four seasons with the Cubs back in the 1980s, Dernier batted .264 with 16 HRs and 92 RBIs.
