CLEVELAND - The Cubs send the reigning National League Cy Young winner to the mound with their season on the line Tuesday night at Progressive Field.
The Cubs will play their second straight win-or-go-home game, but this time back in Cleveland after narrowly escaping Chicago with a 3-2 victory Sunday night at Wrigley Field.
After getting just one at-bat in the three games at Wrigley Field, Schwarber - who wasn't cleared to play the outfield - is back at designated hitter.
Joe Maddon also bumped Schwarber up to second in the order, knocking down Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo and Ben Zobrist one spot each.
Bryant is hitting just .118 in the World Series (2-for-17), while Schwarber has posted a .375 average and 1.000 OPS in 10 plate appearances.
Jake Arrieta will be working on extra rest after taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning in the Cubs' Game 2 victory in Cleveland.
This will be Arrieta's fourth postseason start in 2016, all of which have come away from Wrigley Field (San Francisco, Los Angeles and now two in Cleveland).
Maddon is rolling out Jason Heyward in right field and rookie Willson Contreras at catcher again.
Veteran Miguel Montero worked with Arrieta much of the end of the regular season and during the first two playoff starts, but with the Indians' aggressive running game, Contreras has been behind the plate in every game besides the two David Ross started as Jon Lester's personal catcher.
