It didn't take long, but 20-year-old Jorge Soler has been promoted to Single-A Peoria after three weeks with theArizona Rookie League team.
Soler will join the team for the Chiefs' Thursday night game in Burlington, Iowa. Infielder Kenny Socorro was placed on the disabled list with a right ankle strain to make room for the 6-foot-3 outfielder Soler.

Soler was hitting just .241 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 14 games in Arizona, but management was clearly pleased with the progress he had made and the tools he possesses to re-assign him to Peoria. He was 8-for-8 on stolen bases, walked six times and scored 14 runs.
The Cuban defector signed a nine-year, 30 million deal with the Cubs at the end of June. The 6-foot-3 outfielder should move through the Cubs' minor league system, but management will be aware not to push one of their top prospects along too quickly.
