Kyle Schwarber's HR ball shatters car windshield

Spring Training got underway with a bang for the Cubs.

Or maybe it was more of a crack.

Pitchers and catchers officially report on Friday, but many battery mates are already in Mesa. Kyle Schwarber caused the first casualty of the spring by shattering a car windshield during batting practice. Peter Gesler took to Instagram to document the moment.

The picture of his shattered windshield was accompanied by the caption, "Our car is now famous. Kyle Schwarber's home run in batting practice found our windshield. Everyone took pictures and laughed at the idiot who parked there. I did the same."

Gesler shouldn't feel that bad. It's Spring Training for the fans, too. He's got more than a month to get his parking selection in midseason form.
