Road Ahead: Cubs taking an extended trip

CSN's Leila Rahimi and Tony Andracki talk about the Cubs' long road trip in this week's edition of the Honda Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Honda dealers.

The Cubs are about to embark on one of their longest road trips of the season.

After spending 10 days at home and playing 14 of their last 17 games at Wrigley Field, the Cubs now spend the next 10 days on the road, with stops in Milwaukee, San Francisco and St. Louis.

Joe Maddon believes a trip away from Chicago could actually be a good thing for his club, where guys can catch up on some sleep on the road and it's a nice change of pace.

Maddon also joked that a hidden benefit of the Cubs getting away from Wrigley Field is now they won't have the wind blowing in the hitter's face anymore.

Of course, when the Cubs come back from their road trip, they'll get another extended stay at home with 10 straight games against the Phillies, Dodgers and Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field.
