Watch: With Cubs on Jimmy Fallon, Dexter Fowler pitches reunion between Steve Bartman, Moises Alou

The Cubs' rock-star tour of America following their World Series championship isn't slowing down, and Monday night, three of the recently crowned champs sat down with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show."

And because Fallon is a national personality, he of course had to bring up Steve Bartman, informing the players in attendance — Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist and Dexter Fowler — of a rumor flying around that Bartman might be throwing out the first pitch at Wrigley Field next season.

Rizzo and Zobrist were receptive to the idea, but Fowler had the best response of the group.

"It would only be right if Moises Alou were to catch the ball."

You know, what, Dexter, you are absolutely right.

Bartman (kind of) famously prevented Alou from doing just that back in 2003, sparking a furious reaction from the then-Cubs left fielder. What followed was an epic Game 6 collapse and eventual loss to the then-Florida Marlins in the NLCS.

But curses and droughts are now ancient history, hence the desire for a goodwill gesture to put the Bartman chapter of Cubs history to rest.

Well, if Bartman and Alou do reconnect at Wrigley, hopefully Fowler gets some credit for the idea.
