Comcast SportsNet to air Humber's perfect game

On Wednesday night, Comcast SportsNet aired Kerry Wood's 20-strikeout shutout against the Houston Astros and tonight another impressive pitching performance will be shown, featuring a recent South Side game that made MLB history.

Before April 21, Philip Humber wasn't a well-known name. But after he took the mound against the Seattle Mariners, Humber became the third White Sox player in history to throw a perfect game, retiring all 27 batters he faced. He threw the 21st perfect game in MLB history.

Before the showdown in Seattle, Humber had started just 29 Major League games. His performance earned him the title of American League Player of the Week for the week ending on April 22. Humber received a congratulatory phone call from President Obama and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum has created a plaque to memorialize his performance.

Tonight Comcast SportsNet will air Humber's perfect game at 7:00 CST immediately following SportsNet Central.
