Danks tentatively slated to start rehab assignment in 3-4 weeks

John Danks is tentatively scheduled to begin a minor league rehab assignment in the next three or four weeks, the White Sox announced Tuesday afternoon. That likely pushes his return to the White Sox rotation to after the All-Star break, with late July looking like a target date if all goes according to plan.

Danks will rest Tuesday and Wednesday before beginning a rehabilitation and strengthening program under the watchful eye of head trainer Herm Schneider. The official diagnosis is a mild Grade 1 strain of the subscapularis muscle in his left shoulder, which still means a tear exists, although it's minor.

Tests showed there was no ligament or tendon damage, and according to the White Sox his labrum is "intact." Danks' strain has improved since the initial MRI on his shoulder, which was conducted May 23.
