Find of the day: 1946 cartoon of Comiskey Park

Seriously, this is the coolest thing I've seen this week. If you're wondering about the "plate moved forward 14 feed for Simmons in '34," here's the backstory:

"All last season, Al grew sadder and sadder as he watched center-fielders haul down long drives that would have been home runs in the average major league park. Finally, owner Comiskey heard about it. Result: Owner Comiskey has celled up a staff of landscape artists, gardeners, etc., and ordered them to move the home plate about 14 feed toward the center of center field. When they get through, the measurements of Comiskey Park from home plate to center, left and right fields will be approximately the same as Shibe Park in Philadelphia, where Al became famous."

There's a lot of good stuff on this cartoon. The "I'll probably end up on that hated North Side" is pretty great, too.
