Kevin GoldsteinAlso to the Dodgers is former White Sox 3B prospect Josh Fields.

Fields homered in his first MLB at-bat in 2006 and followed that up with a 23-homer 2007, netting him seventh place in that year's Rookie of the Year voting. But when the Sox couldn't find a taker for Joe Crede in March of 2008, Fields was sent back to Triple-A, where he struggled.

And when Crede was injured later in the season, the Sox opted to go with Juan Uribe at third base instead of Fields. He only saw 35 plate appearances in the season that was supposed to be the year in which he established himself as a solid major leaguer.

Fields did play quite a bit in 2009, but he struggled, only hitting seven home runs in 268 plate appearances. One of those seven was a grand slam in Mark Buehrle's perfect game, and he did catch the final out of that contest. But Fields' fate was sealed by that point, and he wound up bouncing from Kansas City to Pittsburgh and now to Los Angeles.
