Robin Ventura said hes in a place he wants to be. He just doesnt want to be here over the All-Star break.

The White Sox manager joked that he doesnt plan to make any appearances at U.S. Cellular Field over the All-Star break. He didnt didnt disclose where or how hell spend his four days off, but made it clear he wont be at U.S. Cellular Field as his team gears up for a 10-game road trip to begin the second half.

Im not coming into the park, Ventura said with a smile. Im going to be gone.

Asked if he will conduct daily interviews, Ventura quickly responded.

No. No, Im not. I will not. Sorry.

Halfway through his first season, Ventura said he enjoys his new position. He also credited his coaching staff and players for making the transition comfortable.

Im in a place where I want to be with a staff I enjoy being around, Ventura said. I think the players have been great. I got a good group. I got lucky for the first year, I got pros.

Ventura has few worries about how his veteran club will spend the break. The White Sox are 47-37 as they head into Sundays series finale against the Toronto Blue Jays and have won 12 of 15.

I think its good for us to get that break, Ventura said. I think we have guys that have been around long enough that get it and its up to us to make sure theyre focused enough to stay on task with what were trying to do.
