Paul Konerko has said all along he's not concerned with his home run total -- at least, not while he's playing. When his career ends, that's when he'll look back on his personal accomplishments.

But his 400th career home run had an immediate impact on his team's chance of winning. With the Sox down one in the top of the ninth Wednesday in Oakland, Konerko slammed home run No. 400 on the first pitch he saw from A's closer Grant Balfour, tying the game up at two and pulling Chris Sale off the hook for a loss.

So Konerko will get to enjoy his milestone blast a little more -- but for a completely different reason.
