Paul Konerko addresses managerial hype

With the White Sox having a season full of ups and downs, many fans have called for a managerial change.

The guy many of those fans want to replace Robin Ventura in the dugout? Former Sox slugger Paul Konerko.

Konerko made an appearance in the CSN studio on Wednesday and finally cleared the air over whether or not he would consider putting the uniform back on to manage a team like the Sox.

While Konerko thinks he would be good at the helm of a team from an Xs and Os standpoint, all of the other daily obligations of a manager such as addressing the media present issues for the former first baseman.

"I don't know if I could handle all of that," Konerko said. "I don't think I would have the restraint."

If that language is too vague on Konerko's stance on becoming a skipper for some fans, perhaps this tidbit will provide a more clear answer.

"I just don't think I could do it," Konerko added. "I just couldn't see myself getting there."

As for whether or not AJ Pierzynski could become a future skipper, Konerko thinks that is not out of the question.
