Raines gets 49 percent of Hall of Fame votes

Tim Raines received 49 percent of the vote on this year's Hall of Fame ballot, a relatively encouraging trend upward for the should-be Hall of Famer. Over his 23 seasons in the majors -- five of which were spent with the White Sox -- Raines compiled a .385 OBP with 808 stolen bases and 64.2 WAR, numbers which easily qualify Raines for a plaque in Cooperstown.

The Hardball Times' Chris Jaffe projected Raines to receive 52 percent of the vote, while Deadspin's exit polls had Raines at 57 percent.

So, with that in mind, 49 percent is a little disappointing, but that's still a significant spike from his 37.5 percent tally from 2011.

Raines received 24.3 percent of the vote in 2008, 22.6 percent in 2009 and 20.4 percent in 2010.

Barry Larkin was the lone inductee voted in to the class of 2012.
