Geovany Soto is headed back to the South Side, according to 670 The Score's Bruce Levine.

According to Levine, Soto is expected to return on a minor league deal and compete for a 40-man roster spot. He will join current White Sox catchers Omar Narvaez and Kevan Smith behind the dish.

The 33-year-old is familiar with the White Sox, playing 78 games for the club in 2015. In Soto's 210 plate appearances with the Sox, he hit .219 with nine homers and 21 RBIs.

Last season, Soto took the field only 26 times for the Los Angeles Angels and had a slash line of .269/.321/.487.
