In need of another starter, the Kansas City Royals reportedly have acquired Johnny Cueto from the Cincinnati Reds, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

Cueto has gone 7-6 with a 2.62 ERA in 19 starts this year. Last season he won 20 games and led the majors with 243.2 innings pitched and 242 strikeouts.

Despite entering Sunday's action with the American League's best record (58-38), the Royals starters' combined 4.30 ERA ranked 22nd in the majors.

The White Sox travel to Kansas City for a three-game series on Aug. 7.
