The White Sox bullpen got a boost Friday as they activated Zach Putnam from the disabled list.
Putnam was placed on the 15-day DL after suffering a groin injury Aug. 27.
The 28-year-old has a whopping 12.1 K/9 rate in 41 games (good for fifth among AL relievers) with the Sox this season, striking out 55 batters in 41 innings.

Putnam is 3-3 with a 3.07 ERA and 1.146 WHIP. He sported a 1.98 ERA with a 1.079 WHIP in 49 games for the Sox last season, but his K/9 was only 7.6.
The White Sox active big-league roster is now up to 32.
