White Sox designate Javy Guerra for assignment

The White Sox designated RHP Javy Guerra for assignment Wednesday after reinstating him from the disabled list.

Guerra had been on the DL with shoulder inflammation since April 20, retroactive to April 13. He had been rehabbing at Triple-A Charlotte, where he gave up seven earned runs in 3.2 innings, notching four strikeouts.

In three appearances before his injury, Guerra didn’t yield a run over 1.2 innings with the big league club. Guerra had a 2.91 ERA over 46.1 innings with the Sox in 2014.
