CSN's Jen Lada and Bill Melton break down the upcoming matchups in the White Sox Road Ahead, presented by Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Honda Dealers.

Jeff Samardzija and Chris Sale were scheduled to start in Baltimore, but it's still up in the air after both were handed five-game suspensions for their roles in Thursday's White Sox-Royals brawl.

But both pitchers plan to appeal, which may allow them to squeeze in their starts if the process isn't completed by then.

The question everyone is wondering though: Will Carlos Rodon see a start in place of Samardzija or Sale if both suspensions are upheld before their next start?

"There could be a chance for him to get a shot. I think he's stretched out to go at least four and five innings and I wouldn't be surprised," said Bill Melton. "I don't see it maybe happening at Camden Yards. I could be wrong, but I think a better place for him to pitch would be Target Field against the Minnesota Twins. It's a pitchers ballpark. That'd be the best scenario for him."

Time will tell whether the White Sox top prospect will make his starting debut this week, but the South Siders have won four out of the last six games and are hoping to carry some momentum into their first seven-game road trip of the season.

They begin with a three-game stint against the Orioles, then conclude in Minnesota for a four-game series against the Twins, who are looking to separate themselves from the AL Central basement.
